Adam Christodoulou will make his return to CRS Racing next week, at the wheel of a Ferrari 430. The 2008 Formula Renault UK Champion will be taking to the track for the penultimate round of the International GT Open at Monza in Italy.

The young British driver will team up with Tim Mullen, who took pole position last time out at Brands Hatch so they will make a strong team. Tim’s usual team-mate, Chris Niarchos, is off duty next weekend as he has other commitments so Adam was the natural choice.

“It makes perfect sense for us to run Adam at Monza,” commented CRS Team Principal, Andrew Kirkaldy. “We ran him for two years in Formula Renault so we know exactly how good he is! He has done a great job in America and it will be interesting for us to see how he performs in one of our Ferraris. I have no doubt he will do a great job for us.”

After winning the Formula Renault UK Championship in 2008, Adam headed to the United States where he excelled in the 2009 Star Mazda Series, winning the first race. He followed this up with two further wins, nine out of 13 podiums and ultimately the Championship title.

This year he has raced in the Rolex Sports Car Series in a Mazda RX-8. In his first year of GT racing, Adam took victory at Lime Rock Park and scored a further three podium finishes.

“When Andrew (Kirkaldy) called me I said yes straight away,” said Adam. “The Ferrari 430 is an amazing car and now, after seeing them at the CRS Technical Centre so many times, I finally get to have a go! I’m looking forward to racing in Europe again. I haven’t raced at Monza before so I will have the challenge of learning the track and the car at the same time but that’s okay as I have been doing that all year.”
